  • APEXi Super AFC II

    The basic function of the Super AFC II is to change the fuel mixture by intercepting the MAS signal and adjusting it. The Super AFC II can adjust the mixture at several user-selectable RPM ranges, and has high-throttle and low-throttle adjustment programs. The Super AFC II has capabilities unheard-of in anything less than a full-blown $1,000-plus engine management system! New features include, knock control, finer tuning and more tuning tools!

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR TUNING WITH A SUPER AFC
    • Display
      The new Super AFC-II utilizes a state of the art visual display lighting called Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) to provide a bright & clear visual information. A new dot matrix monitor enabled a variety of information to be displayed simultaneously where the driver can check quickly. Information relayed can be either displayed numerically (analog gauge style) or graphically.
    • Body
      The body of this new product is slimmer & smaller (H52 mm x W126 mm x D18 mm) than the previous offering. This ergonomically designed body houses only a "center button" which toggles & rotates where it enables the driver to navigate (4-axis toggle: up& down, and left & right) and to select functions of the Super AFC-II. This button also has a feature that enables the driver to fine tune any parameters. All these features in the new model's user interface made it much easier & efficient compared to the older model.
    • Knocking Monitor
      The new Super AFC-II has a new knock sensor function which alerts the driver. This ensures that the engine is tuned to perfection at every stage. This function only works on vehicles that has an engine knock sensor.
    • Memory for two settings
      The new Super AFC-II can save two data setting from data collected with respected to air flow adjust rate, throttle duration, engine RPM, etc. The driver could use these two settings in a variety of driving conditions, be it track, street, or just plain cruising.
    • Password
      To avoid the new Super AFC-II from tampering by unauthorized users, a password can be set for protection.
    • Warning
      The driver can set up various warning functions in order to monitor the engine operation. These functions includes incoming air flow rate, suction pipe pressure, engine knock RPM, etc.

    A'PEX's new VAFC II combines fuel computer functions with a VTEC engagement controller. The V-AFC II features a user-definable, multiple point adjustable fuel curve that can be set in 100 RPM increments. The range of fuel adjustment is +/- 50% at each of the user-defined setting points. The Fuel Adjustment function considers wide/narrow throttle and low/high camshaft settings, from which four different fuel maps are created (wide-low, wide-high, narrow-low, narrow-high).     APEXi VAFC II Piggyback Fuel Computer with Integrated VTEC Controller

    The APEXi VAFC II Modifies manifold pressure signal and alters VTEC engagement point on Honda VTEC engines; Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD).

    APEXi, with it's VAFC II introduces the first digital fuel computer that combines fuel computer functions with a VTEC engagement controller.     There are 2 preset settings that can be selected by a single switch. The response and the consistency of the boost can be adjusted by using the GAIN, START BOOST setting. A built in warning feature will alert the driver when the boost exceeds the set boost pressure with an alarm and a message in the display. When the warning feature is activated, the LIMITER feature can lower the boost to a safe pressure. PEAK boost feature will allow the user to check the highest boost recorded.
    Based on the very popular B Spec, the all new PRofec B Spec 2’s basic function to increase boost is as easy as the original, with an added built in boost pressure display and optional features like real-time, peak or last boost display (in either kPa or PSI). There are optional warning and boost limiter functions that can be programmed to offer much more control. The two presets values can be stored and are executed by a larger capacity inline solenoid valve. This unit does not require extensive programming and is ideal for low to high boost levels for single or twin turbos with actuator or external wastegates.     As easy to use as a manual boost controller, but with advanced electronic boost controller response & consistency, the PRofec Type-S keeps things simple. Based on the ever-popular Original PRofec B-Spec, the Type-S has two rotary switches to select two independent boost setting, a “LO” and a “HI”, while another “GAIN” switch compensates the wastegate’s valve response.     Greddy e-Manage is an inexpensive programmable fuel management system that allows you to properly tune your factory fuel system, without having to change the entire factory ECU system to an expensive stand-alone unit.   • HKS Fan Controller

    Many vehicles have cooling fans controlled by the stock ECU. If a lower degree thermostat is installed, engine temp will still remain high at low speeds where there is little or no air through the radiator causing unstable engine temps. This unit can control one fan at two speeds, or teo fans at one speed, it can be set to turn on and off at any temp. It has a real time display for water temp, using the factory water temp sensor. A peak hold function memorizes and display s the max temp values. A built-in buzzer alarm function and blinking backlight, warn the driver if the set temp is exceeded. This allows driver to tell whether the temp is rising or falling by the rate that the backlight blinks.

  • HKS FCD

    The HKS FCD is an electronic device developed to properly raise the factory fuel cut level, on factory turbocharged vehicles, to a safe and higher predetermined point. As modifications such as intakes and exhausts are made to optimize engine performance along with utilizing a boost controller to further raise boost levels, the conservative factory fuel cut is often triggered by the higher boost levels which activates a fuel delivery cut off as a failsafe procedure. Symptoms of fuel cut are often expresses as hesitation, bogging, and/or illumination of diagnostic indicators. With the integration of HKS fuel controllers, or in certain cases where the factory fuel curves are very aggressive, an application specific amount of additional boost above factory preset levels can be accommodated. The electronic signal from the FCD will raise the fuel cut level to accommodate for the additional boost without triggering fuel cut and/or an engine diagnostic light. The FCD installation is designed as a simple integration on to the VPC/F-CON or factory ECU harness.

    Warning: Due to the nature of this product, higher than recommended or unsafe boost levels may be attained by the installation and use of the FCD. This may result in severe damage to the vehicles engine or other mechanical parts. We strongly suggest a fuel supplement system or consulting a trained technician before the purchase and use of the FCD.


  • JET V-Force Power Module

    Using the same computer tuning popularized by JET's Stage 1 and Stage 2 computer modules/chips, this V-Force power control module uses a 20MHz RISC microprocessor to optimize the ignition spark advance and recalibrate the fuel map for optimum horsepower and acceleration. Other features include an LED readout and an on/off override switch.

    You don't have to be a master mechanic to get a major horsepower increase from your vehicle. All you need is a half an hour, a set of hand tools, and Python's Venom 400 performance control module. These Venom 400s increase horsepower by 25 percent in the 1,000 to 5,000 rpm range and reduce delay when you mash down your throttle. And because they only kick on during increased engine load, they don't affect fuel economy under normal driving conditions. They'll work with preinstalled performance chips, have an off switch to preserve smog certification when not racing, and require only four electrical connections during installation.

    The VENOM 400™ Performance Control Module is an add-on control unit that features its own micro-controller. This module is connected to the vehicle's sensors and increase engine performance by monitoring the sensors output characteristics and modifying the input to the existing vehicles computer.

    VENOM 400™ Advantages
    The VENOM 400™ improves horsepower by as much as 25% through the range of approximately 1,000 to 5,000 RPM. The VENOM 400™ is OBD II compatible. Besides a substantial increase of torque, the VENOM 400™ reduces flat spots or delay time during sudden acceleration.

    The VENOM 400™ incorporates an 8-bit micro-controller that is capable of monitoring the various sensor inputs and modifying their output at more than 40 times per second.

    If you have already installed a performance prom, the VENOM 400™ will enhance the vehicle's performance beyond the parameters set by the performance prom.

    The VENOM 400™ is only active when peak performance is required. During normal driving, the VENOM 400™ remains passive until the microcomputer determines that engine airflow and throttle position warrants increased performance. Normal fuel economy prevails while under normal load.

    The VENOM 400™ enhances the performance gains achieved by installing an upgraded chip. Whatever the gains are as specified within the chip, they will be magnified through the use of the VENOM 400™.

    The VENOM 400™ has an off switch so smog certification is achieved when not racing.

    The VENOM 400™ will not trigger the emission safeguards of today's vehicles.

    Easy installation in 20-30 minutes with basic hand tools requiring only four electrical connections.

    VENOM 400™ Questions & Answers
    Q. Okay, How Does It Work
    A. The Venom 400 activates at about 25-30% Throttle Angle. When it does it modifies the input signals going into your computer, in particular the Manifold Absolute Pressure and Throttle Position Sensor Signals.

    Q. How Do I Get More Power From That
    A. Well, when the computer sees these "modified" signals it will provide a different set of fuel and ignition maps than it would normally provide. These maps tell the computer what the spark timing and fuel injection pulse (fuel) should be for any given engine operating condition, like under load, part throttle or deceleration. The Venom makes the computer use different maps that are more aggressive and provide better performance.

    Q. What Do You Mean By Better
    A. Well, the factory ECUs are not always tuned for the best performance, they are tuned for the best fuel economy and emissions. That's particularly true of sport compact cars that are designed to get good fuel economy.

    Q. So Emissions will Go Up, and Fuel Economy Will Go Down
    A. Actual tail pipe emissions will probably remain well within specifications. This is a result of the efficient (but restrictive) catalytic converters found on modern vehicles. Fuel economy will usually decrease slightly. It is difficult to make more horsepower without burning more fuel, that's just a fact of life. If anyone tells you that they can increase horsepower without burning more fuel on a late model (95 and up) vehicle I would be suspicious. The fact is, the manufacturers do an great job at getting the most horsepower at the "lowest emission level" possible. But they are concerned more with emissions and fuel economy so they will detune the engine by 10 or so horsepower if it can mean a ULEV certification or extra 1 mile per gallon. (Ultra Low Emissions)

    Q. So Is This Like a PROM or Computer Chip
    A. Kind of, but different and better. PROM chips really stemmed from GM products. Tuners would reprogram and tweak the PROMS to get more performance.

    When we started developing the Venom we thought of doing that but ruled it out quickly. First, the industry is going to Flash PROMS, whichare non removable. That means you have to take your whole computer out, send it to someone to have it reprogrammed, which can take days, that is a pain. In addition once programmed its in there and in order to "turn it off", lets say for "on-road" use or emissions certification, you would have to reprogram it again. We really didn't see that as a viable option for the customer. We wanted to be able to switch it on or off (i.e. for on road, off road). The problem with PROMS is that most states will have some type of emissions program. Two things can happen. The PROM programmer gets too aggressive and the vehicle won't make it through a test. Or, they are too conservative and you don't get the performance gains. Because you can switch ours off, you don't have to worry about that.

    Q. What's Deal With The Little Red LED
    A. The LED is mounted in the dash and will tell you when the Venom is active. Another benefit over PROMS or CPU upgrades.
